SYNOPSIS
In the year 2030, a massive heat wave hits the Phoenix metro area, causing the air conditioning unit of John, Casey, and Destiny’s shared apartment to shut down. This forces the three to pile into John’s old car and travel north to escape the heat, taking a side road through the desert to avoid the traffic. However, their car begins acting strange and then suddenly turns off, stranding the three in the desert.

Hi! My name is Tessa, and I am so excited to be the Director of Photography for Heatwave! I'm a Film and Media Production student at Arizona State University! I’m from Mesa, Arizona, and I absolutely love horror movies and romance movies. My all time favorite is Mean Girls, I can quote the whole thing! My style is mostly high key lighting but I am super inspired by colored and low key lighting with lots of contrast. I have full confidence in this project and this team and I am super excited to see where we take it.

My name is Christina Willis and I am a film and media production student at Arizona State University. I am from Phoenix, Arizona and I have a passion for film! Some of my favorite films are Watermelon Woman and Parasite. I love documentaries that push the artistic boundaries such as In Our Mother's Gardens and The Thin Blue Line. My style leans towards films that have a loud message for social justice causes and that represent the voices of Black LGBTQ+ people. I love to edit because of the control it gives me over how the story is told.
